Four site managers working at Bellway developments in Nottinghamshire have all won a prestigious industry accolade.

The quartet each received a Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) in recognition of the high quality of their work.

Dave Pringle, Gary Archer, Paul Johnson and Steven Pearson learned of their success during a virtual awards ceremony hosted by NHBC Regional Director Richard Hartshorn and comedian Andrew Ryan on Friday 30 October.

They were among 23 Seal of Excellence Award winners for the East region, and just seven from sites in Nottinghamshire.

The Bellway East Midlands site managers qualified for the prize after winning a Quality Award – the first round of the competition – earlier this year.

Dave, site manager at The Hall in Edwalton, said: “This is my fourth consecutive year winning this award and it is a great pleasure working for Bellway. It has helped that I get a great deal of support from my construction director, Lee Wilkinson and contracts manager, Gary Sidney.”

Gary, site manager at Sherwood Gate in Linby, said: “I am so pleased to have won a Seal of Excellence award. This is proof that we continue to build our homes to the highest standards.

“Getting everything right is really important to the whole team and I take real pride in hearing how happy our new residents are with the homes we’ve built for them.

“Winning this award is a real team effort, so I’d like to thank everyone on site for all their hard work and support.”

Paul, site manager at The Foresters at Middlebeck in Newark, said: “It’s a great achievement to win a Seal of Excellence award. I’m really proud of my team for the work they have put in to building the homes at The Foresters.”

Steven, site manager at Berry Hill in Mansfield, said: “I feel very proud to have met the high standards required to win this fantastic award.

“The award is a real team effort and is a great achievement by the whole team.”

As part of the judging process for the awards, each candidate is assessed across 44 areas of site management, with spot checks being carried out to test their technical knowledge, the consistency of the build process, and the quality controls they have in place.

Lee Wilkinson, Construction Director for Bellway East Midlands, said: “For us to win four of the seven Seal of Excellence Awards given to site managers in Nottinghamshire is a tremendous achievement and a real testament to the dedication of our site managers and their teams.

“We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality homes for our customers, which is reflected by our status as a five-star builder, meaning that more than nine out of 10 of our buyers would recommend us to a friend or family member. These awards are a further demonstration of that commitment.”
