This November, East Midlands health company Cell Regeneration became one of the first companies to ‘Sponsor a Student’ with the Northampton Saints Foundation.
Liz Clare, MD of Cell Regeneration and co-Founder of the Always a Chance charity has been personally involved with the Northampton Saints Foundation for nearly a decade, donating time, skills and funding to the Northampton Saints Hitz project.
Liz commented: “After we set up Always a Chance in 2011, we very quickly raised a quarter of a million pounds. One of the schemes we chose to support was the Northampton Saints Hitz project, as they are also part of the Northampton Saints Foundation and their goals align very closely with our own.”
Liz went on to add “We have been so touched and proud to see the project grow over the years from initially supporting eight kids, to 125.”
When Liz and her colleagues were informed of the new fundraising package Sponsor a Student, it offered another wonderful opportunity to extend their support.
Liz said of the initiative: “I have seen first-hand the impact of the Northampton Saints Foundation on students’ lives. We are honoured to support such an impactful initiative that continues to open its doors to help young people who need it the most.”
The Sponsor a Student scheme gives a young person 12 months support and education through the Northampton Saints Foundation. These students have struggled in mainstream education and have been referred to the Foundation to receive help with training and development, giving them the chance of a better future. The more young people that the Foundation can help, the more the local NEET (not in employment, education or training) population will reduce, and in turn incidents of anti-social behaviour.
Sue Wright, Fundraising Manager for the Northampton Saints Foundation said of Cell Regeneration’s donation: “We are delighted that Liz and her team at Cell Regeneration Ltd have chosen to continue supporting us and our students in this way. Donations like this are vital in helping the Foundation to continue delivering the support that is life-changing for these young people and offers them the chance of a brighter future.”
