Bellway is continuing its investment in Wingerworth as work progresses at the Curzon Park development.
The housebuilder is delivering 222 new homes at Curzon Park, off Derby Road, following the successful completion of 160 new homes at the nearby Brailsford Park development, off Mill Lane.
Financial contributions for local services and infrastructure are also being provided by Bellway under the planning agreements for the two developments.
As part of the Brailsford Park development, financial contributions include £800,000 towards primary and secondary education, more than £120,000 for play facilities and open space, and £3,800 for a new household waste recycling centre.
As part of the Curzon Park development, Bellway will contribute over £420,000 to highway improvements.
Steve Smith, Sales Manager for Bellway East Midlands, said: “It is now almost six years since we began building in Wingerworth, and during that time we have seen our sites become thriving new communities. When construction work is complete, we will have delivered a total of 382 new homes in the village.
“Not only have we helped to meet the high demand for new housing in the region, but we have also made significant investments to support local services and infrastructure.
“The result is two new neighbourhoods and improved community facilities for today’s residents and future generations of homeowners.”
A total of 86 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership are being delivered across the two developments, while more than 60 of the private homes have so far been purchased by people using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
The initiative enables buyers to secure a new home with a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage, with the remaining 20 per cent being provided as an equity loan which is interest free for the first five years.
First launched in 2013, the scheme is now available exclusively to first-time buyers and is restricted to homes valued at or below the regional price cap, which is £261,900 for the East Midlands.
Steve said: “Brailsford Park is sold out but there are still homes for sale at Curzon Park so it’s not too late to join this growing community in Wingerworth, a village which enjoys the twin benefits of being within easy reach the M1 in one direction and the Peak District in the other.
“Buyers can currently choose from a range of three to four-bedroom homes, and there is something to suit all budgets and lifestyles.”
Curzon Park is a mix of two to five-bedroom homes, including bungalows, detached and semi-detached homes. Prices currently range from £252,500 to £380,000.
