Leicestershire housebuilder David Wilson Homes recently helped a group of cubs get in the festive spirit and arranged a Christmas themed rock painting activity in Wigston.

99th Leicester Cubs received a donation of small rocks to be painted and a selection of art supplies to spark festive creativity among the members of the community group.

Whilst restrictions put a halt to the children being able to hide their creations at David Wilson Homes’ Wigston Meadows development, the developer plans to invite them back in the New Year to distribute the rocks around the community for residents to find.

Rachel Sheard, a Group Leader at 99th Leicester Cubs, said: “Our scouts did a brilliant job in decorating their rocks with a variety of Christmas themes and they’ll look forward to having a chance to visit Wigston Meadows to take part in the hiding part of the activity at a later date.”

Among the painted rocks were Rudolphs, Christmas trees, presents and wreaths, in addition to messages of ‘Merry Christmas’.

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We enjoyed the opportunity to help 99th Leicester Cubs get in the Christmas spirit with our rock painting activity.

“There were some fantastic creations from everyone involved and we look forward to being able to run another activity in the New Year and welcome the cubs to Wigston Meadows to hide their rocks for our residents to find.”

Wigston Meadows is a development of three, four and five bedroom properties and David Wilson Homes has been inviting members of the local community to join in the festivities this year. It recently welcomed the Cazlyns Craft Club to ‘yarn-bomb’ its show home with a range of Christmas themed knitted creations.
