Former recruitment expert Ian Russell is embarking on a career change of his own – having launched oven cleaning service Ovenu Ashby.
The 49-year-old, who has more than 20 years’ experience working in the recruitment sector, was recently made redundant from his managerial position and decided it was time to realise a long-held ambition to become his own boss.
Ian, from Swadlincote, said: “I was determined to take control of my life and career by launching a franchised business, which gives me the invaluable reassurance of being supported by a tried and trusted brand.
“I’m starting from scratch, but I hope my commitment to delivering an exceptional service will see me quickly build a loyal client base.
“My long term ambition is to grow the business to a point that I can take on additional oven technicians. It’s an exciting time and, having spent many years in the corporate world, I already wish I’d made the move far sooner!”
Married to Gabby, in his spare time Ian is a keen runner and a member of Swadlincote Rifle and Pistol Club.
Rik Hellewell, founder and managing director of Ovenu, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Ian to Ovenu and support the creation of a new business. His impressive background in management, combined with his drive and enthusiasm, makes him a perfect fit and I’m confident he will be a huge success.”
The Ovenu process involves dismantling key components such as the door, interior panels, fan, and shelves and placing them in design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic and biodegradable products to clean the parts, leaving the oven in near showroom condition. In addition to conventional ovens, it also covers hobs, extractor hoods, microwaves, together with range cookers and ovens.
Ovenu Ashby covers the postcodes DE11, LE65 and LE67 which includes Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Swadlincote, Newhall, Woodville, Coalville and surrounding areas. For details call Ian on 01530542582, email ashby@ovenu.co.uk or visit: https://www.ovenu.co.uk/oven_cleaning/ashby/
