Charlotte Bailey and her University sweetheart Sean Ali, Co-Founders of Super U, have been shortlisted for the 2018 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category.
Super U Co-Founders

Super U beat off some tough competition in order to make the regional shortlist, with a record number of businesses entering the awards nationally across the wide range of categories.

The Awards have celebrated some amazing entrepreneurs over the years, many of whom are now household names; David Buttress of Just Eat, Julie Deane OBE of The Cambridge Satchel Company and James Watt of BrewDog.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for the awards and to be amongst such a group of inspiring young entrepreneurs. When we launched Super U just under a year ago, we never could have dreamed of being up for the Young Entrepreneurs of the Year award, but doing so motivates us more than ever to continue encouraging people to live healthier and happier lives through the powers of Superfoods!” – said Super U Co-founder Charlotte Bailey

Creator of the Awards, Francesca James, said: “We have been inundated with some incredible entries this year, and all shortlisted applicants should be extremely proud of themselves! This year has yet again seen a record number of entrants and we’ve been absolutely blown away by the strength and diversity of applications.”

Having been diagnosed as Coeliac whilst studying for her A-Levels, Super U co-founder Charlotte Bailey found that balancing a hectic student social life, studying hard and a passion for dancing caused her to rely on highly-processed, gluten free ready meals and snacks. However, Charlotte’s symptoms were worse than ever, with constant tiredness and bloating, leading to increased anxiety as she feared she would never feel normal again.

Meeting co-founder Sean Ali changed everything as he introduced her to a whole range of great-tasting, naturally gluten-free superfoods and recipes… and more importantly helped her learn how to cook interesting and appetising dishes with them.

Now the recent graduates have made it their mission to help support others in the same position as Charlotte by creating a range of organic, naturally gluten-free superfood powders containing highly nutritious and flavoursome ingredients.
