Leading developer David Wilson Homes is providing Warwickshire homebuyers with interior design inspiration for their new homes at its development, Ashlawn Gardens.

The brand new show homes were recently unveiled on Ashlawn Road and serve as examples of the latest interior design trends that homeowners can apply to their own property.

In a survey conducted by David Wilson Homes*, it was found that 19% of residents in Warwickshire would choose to buy a new build due to it being a blank canvas. With this in mind, the leading developer’s show homes are designed to provide interior design inspiration.

One of the properties; the four bedroom Holden style home, features a uniquely designed children’s bedroom with a Minecraft theme for young gamers.

Another is a twin bedroom with two separate work spaces for younger children, as the ability to work and provide complete school projects from home has now become a top priority among house hunting families.

A beautifully-designed kitchen with a glazed bay also lends itself to cooking together as a family, whilst acting as the perfect space for a buffet when hosting for guests.

Kate Letteriello, Managing Director of Artspace Interior Design, said: “The Holden is a contemporary and upmarket show home with a colour palette based on Farrow & Ball colours Teron and Inchyra blue. These rich colours are balanced out with chrome and glass to keep it modern.

“They’re really rich colours that complement each other so well. These are bold and memorable, but you may not naturally put them together where they are both strong. Using whites and metallic elements meant these colours were lifted and didn’t feel oppressive at all.”

The second of the show homes to have opened at the brand new community in Rugby is a five bedroom Henley style home, which provides a visual insight into how flexible living can be achieved for prospective buyers.

Kate added: “In the Henley we have gone for a soft neutral palette with golds to show off this gorgeous home. Lots of texture throughout soft furnishings, wallpaper and artwork has added depth and interest throughout.

“We chose to design older teen bedrooms with a mountain climbing theme in one room, as we thought the family here would be into their outdoor activities with so much to do at their doorstep.

“In another room we created an on-trend design with a loose tropical vibe. The wallpaper behind the bed is beautiful and, the more you look at it, the more animals you find.”

Also revealed in the survey by David Wilson Homes was that 68% of residents would choose to use a spare room for a hobby; something which can be done with ease due to the versatility of the properties.

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “Interior design is an important part of establishing a new home for many homebuyers and we’re looking to provide prospective buyers with much needed inspiration.

“Whilst we encourage people to make an appointment to secure time with our Sales Advisers at Ashlawn Gardens, we’re still able to provide potential buyers with the opportunity to find inspiration for their own property and to decorate in a way that suits them and the whole family.”

There is currently a selection of three and four bedroom homes available with prices starting from £299,995.
