Over £2 million is being invested in Worksop and its surrounding areas thanks to new communities being delivered by Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes.
The funding forms part of the planning agreement for the Gateford Park and Gateford Manor developments and will be used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents in and around the town.
Contributions exceed £2,300,000 under a planning agreement with Bassetlaw District Council and Nottinghamshire County Council, which will go towards the improvements of local services including educational facilities, public transport and green open spaces.
As part of the investment, there are plans for a new primary school and playing pitches for sports.
Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “Investing in local communities is an extremely important part of building a new housing development. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the local community and strive to support it wherever we can.
“We’re thrilled to be building in Worksop and, as our development progresses, we will not only be contributing to the area financially, but the construction process will underpin new jobs for the local area.”
Gateford Park is just a stone’s throw away from Worksop town centre with its array of high street shops, restaurants, cafés and bars to enjoy.
A great choice of schools are nearby including Gateford Park Primary School and Outwood Academy Valley, both of which are rated highly by Ofsted.
Residents at the development can benefit from great transport links, with the A57, A60, M1 and A1(M) all within easy reach.
Clumber Park and Meadowhall Shopping Centre are also just a short distance away and the Peak District’s fantastic countryside is less than an hour away by car.
Having recently launched, keen homebuyers can now secure their appointment with a Sales Adviser at Gateford Park to learn more about the properties available.
The development’s sales centre and show homes are expected to open on Saturday 10th July and anyone interested in viewing the properties is encouraged to book an appointment with a Sales Adviser.
