A leading housebuilder has teamed up with High Peak Borough Council to help local people struggling to get on the property ladder buy their own homes.

Affordable home ownership opportunities are available at College Hill Park in Buxton, a development of new homes from Persimmon Homes.

Through High Peak’s Affordable Homes Scheme, 26 properties on the development will available for 80% of their market value to local people meeting the required eligibility criteria.

That means that a 3-bed end terrace house, advertised for sale on the Persimmon website for £167,995, is available through the scheme for just £134,396. A range of 3-bed semi-detached and 3-bed terraced homes are included.

Dave Hodgson, Sales Director for Persimmon Homes North West: “There are a number of Government schemes that make homes affordable, but the High Peak Borough Council scheme targets local people, giving them a helping hand to buy a home within their own community.

“It is a brilliant scheme and the feedback we have had is that it’s a quick, straightforward and hassle-free way to become a homeowner in your home town.”

To qualify, buyers need to live, work or have a family connection within the Buxton area and be a first-time buyer aged between 23 and 40.
