With over 6,500 care assistants across more than 140 Caremark offices throughout the UK, the selection process was particularly competitive.

‘The Incredibles’ awards celebrate the contributions of care assistants who demonstrate an exceptional dedication to providing outstanding care. Lucy stood out for her unwavering commitment to improving the lives of her customers, offering not only professional care but compassion and kindness that has a lasting impact on those she supports.

Lucy’s nomination notes that she cares for several customers but spends a lot of time with one customer, a gentleman from Lithuania who has very little family in the UK to support him. His English is limited and he came to Caremark very disengaged with society, until Lucy started to visit him.

Simon Ford and Joanne Ford, Managing Directors of Caremark’s Mansfield & Ashfield office, who nominated Lucy, said: “Recognising how socially isolated one of her customers was, Lucy built up a bond with him to help learn about his interests. As a result, Lucy helped the customer rekindle their joy of colouring and painting, arranged for them to attend local community activities, and even sourced new furniture for his bedroom so it felt more inviting. By listening and understanding what motivates him, Lucy has made her customer feel heard, valued and empowered.”

Commenting on the vital role Lucy plays in his life, the customer said: “Lucy makes my days brighter. She gives me hope that I can have days to look forward to. Thank you will never be enough to show my appreciation for her.”

To honour these care assistants, Caremark will be hosting a special event at the iconic Fortnum & Mason in London on 21st November 2025. The finalists will enjoy an afternoon tea and be celebrated for their contributions to the care sector. The highlight of the event will be the announcement of ‘The Incredible of the Year’, a title reserved for the finalist whose work has shown exceptional dedication and impact.
